A day marking childhood was celebrated with fun and frolic at MRA School, Sector- 27-A, Chandigarh. Classrooms were decorated by the teachers a day before the celebration. It all began with a special welcome of the students in school where teachers stood at the entrance and in corridors holding placards with special messages and balloons in their hands.. After that teachers conducted an assembly wherein they stepped into the shoes of their students and
conducted the entire assembly right from Gayatri Mantra, Shanti Path, Prayer song, saying thought of the day and reading news.
A teacher told them the significance of Children's Day in her speech. A teacher came in Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru’s attire to add fervour in his speech and aware the students about Nehru Ji’s love for children. Students experienced a power packed programme specially arranged for them.
Their loving teachers gave various performances for the students in order to exhibit their love and affection for them, like Group song, individual song performance by Music teacher. A skit on the importance of ‘Discipline in school’ was very entertaining. The teacher participants were in fancy dress for their performance in skit. Students cheered their teachers on as they saw them on stage and laughed boisterously at their jokes. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and joy.
For Primary wing students different kind of races were held in the playground to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship, motivation, healthy competition and love for games.
To highlight the importance of the day a motivational and inspirational speech was delivered by the Principal of the school, Dr Seema Biji and headmistress Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur. At the end, prizes were distributed to the winners. The day ended with the National Anthem and balloons floating beautifully in the air. Smiling faces of the children were looking like swaying of roses. The wonderful memories will linger on everybody’s minds for a long time. The Principal applauded the teachers for putting up a wonderful show. She motivated the teachers to treat children like buds in a garden and also stressed that they should be carefully and lovingly nurtured as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.
There is no garden as beautiful as childhood.
